Hmm, hmm, hmm, interesting. This one is trying to stick to the one of my meta-subjects (aliens, robots, space travel, urban myth/folklore) I would not have expected it to try to stick to. (Isn't *that* a convoluted sentence?) I just might have to let it stick and see where it goes.

I also want to say "Thanks!" for deathless_pose. I'm writing a lot of short length stories (1500-2500) as a result of the group, which is exactly the result what I wanted. I think of it as like interval training in sports. I wish we had a tad more consistency in participation (having like 4-5 of us doing it regularly would be just perfect), but I can understand that it's a big commitment. Yet, I am enjoying deathless_pose a lot and getting some fun stories out of it!

I'm really glad you're getting what you wanted out of the group. I'm struggling with blocked creativity, myself, but I know I want to learn how to make a short story work and this is motivating me more than if I had no deadline at all.

I am actually surprised the group is this slow. We had a different experience the first year. I may try to recruit new members. Mostly, I'm trying to make the idea of a short story writing group available, with prompts and deadlines for motivation and a peer group that will read and critique or comment. Sadly, getting everyone to comment is like herding cuttlefish. I really appreciate you sticking with it!

I'd bet that people don't have much time and aren't always able to tackle a new writing project along with any existing writing projects. I did d_p with the decision to make it a primary writing project for flash-esque stories, which is why I think I've been able to stick with it.

But when people don't have the extra writing time, they probably can't find the extra time for critiques either...

You could try recruiting on the Viable Paradise mail list? There might be some folks there who would be willing to sign on up.
